Happy Halloween

Here are our costumes for Halloween this year!!!!  Cooper was sporting a hotdog outfit which was very appropriate :)  He didn't mind at all wearing his costume to the neighborhood Halloweenie Roast.  He was a big hit.  Baby Weaver was able to dress up as well.  Happy Halloween everybody!!!
Here are some cookies that my neighbor's kids made.  They looked so real and gross.  Very creative!!!
These are the pumkins that Ryan and I carved.  Mine is on the left (of course, Go pirates) and Ryan's is on the right.  The kids in the neighborhood loved our pumkins.  We received lots of compliments.  It was so much fun getting trick-or-treaters at our first house!!!  We had a blast and Cooper barked at everyone!!

Weaver Baby Pool

We are at the midpoint of our pregnancy, so we decided to do a baby pool for our little one.  There have been so many people predicting what we are having and how big he/she will be, that we decided to make it even more exciting.  From a family that loves a little wager, whether it's cards, dice, or golf, we couldn't resist.  This one won't break your wallet since it's more for fun.  For one dollar, any of our friends and family can guess the date, time, sex, weight, length, hair color, and eye color of our little one.

So, good luck to those who want to predict our little one's birthday and stats.  We are enjoying the guesses so far.  Keep them coming. :)  http://bebepool.com/melannsan

Happy 2nd Anniversary

Happy 2nd Anniversary!!!!  This is one of the very first pictures Ryan and I have of each other when we first started dating.  I was struggling in anesthesia school and Ryan came along with a hurt knee.  I hate that he injured that knee, but it brought us together.  As a matter of fact, Ryan was probably still limping around when this picture was taken :)

We enjoyed a really nice dinner at University Chophouse and then pigged out on some Cold Stone ice cream.  Ryan did really good with his surprise dinner plans.  We also opened some very sweet cards from friends and family.  We have had so many great times together along with life's challenges, but we are very much in love.  We are planning a little get-a-way to Gatlinburg in a few weeks for our anniversary trip.  So happy 2 years...they have been unforgettable!!!

Little flutters

Well, either Baby Weaver enjoyed the State Fair or is trying to get my attention.  On our way home from the State Fair, I felt the flutters of my little one.  It was the first time that I actually knew what I was feeling.  Words cannot explain. Now, I find myself sitting really still in hopes of feeling him/her move.  I can't wait until Ryan is able to feel his son or daughter moving around.

I have been feeling pretty good so far the past few weeks.  Some days I sleep most of my day away and others I feel great.  My belly is starting to pooch out a little, so I don't look I've eaten too many doughnuts.

The bedding for the nursery has been purchased so hopefully we can get started on that really soon.  Currently, Ryan's office is the baby room but he is getting kicked out. :)  Maybe we can get some before and after pictures up soon.

Our Precious Baby

We had our big ultrasound today!!  It was so exciting to see our little one moving all around and looking at us.  It was precious!  I am 17 weeks and 5 days today.  Baby Weaver got a full examination and everything checked out great.  We are just so thankful.

Ryan and I had been talking about how nervous we get with every doctor visit.  At first, it's the 8 week appointment.  You know you've got a positive pregnancy test, but is there a heartbeat?  So, whew, you get through that one with an OK!

Then, it was the 13 week check-up.  You do the usual of getting on a scale, peeing in a cup, and then they listen for the heartbeat again.  You really think they are going to mistake your's for the baby's because your heart is beating rampant.  And again, you wipe your brow, we're out of the first trimester.

And today, is everything okay?  Is our baby developing like he/she should?  Our baby passed all the exams with flying colors.  Thank you, Lord!!!  We are so thankful!

We look forward to these future doctor appointments with less anxiety.  We may have a few more grey hairs or wrinkles just getting to 17 weeks and 5 days.  Of course, we expect even more especially when the little one enters this world.  We are not finding out the sex of Baby Weaver.  All we are praying for is a healthy baby.

13 week checkup

Today, Ryan and I went to see the midwife for check-up on Baby Weaver.  So far, everything is looking good.  We were able to listen to the heartbeat.  Baby Weaver's heart is beating 155-160 beats per minute.  He or she was also moving around quite a bit so Lisa (our midwife) was having to move the dopplar around to keep up.  Our youngster is very active already.  Our next appointment is in four weeks for our big ultrasound.  We are very excited!!!

Hello from Baby Weaver

Hello there!  Mom and Dad have some very exciting news to share!  I will be making my arrival on or around March 19th, 2011!!!  Yay, I am so excited to get here, but in the meantime I'll be hanging out with mom.  They took some pictures of me when I wasn't looking, but I don't mind.  I know that will be happening a lot when I get here.  So, here I am saying hello at a whopping 8 weeks old.  I am currently 10 weeks and growing fast.  I am thrilled to meet my family and my cousin who is due to arrive a week after me.  That's right, my Uncle Derek and Aunt Ann (that's mom's brother and sis-in-law) are expecting my cousin to arrive in the same month.  Isn't that cool??!!!  Please continue to pray for me as I continue to grow to be a healthy baby and I'll keep you posted on my progress!!

Love,

Baby Weaver

Home Sweet Home

Well, It's been a while since we have posted, but now we have something exciting to announce!  Ryan and I are finally owning our first home.  Words cannot express our excitement!!  We finally found "the one" after many months of looking.  And, I mean lots of looking.

This home is located in a wonderful neighborhood in a great location.  The home is all brick with hardwood floors throughout.  The yard is in need of some work, but we are ready!  Now, we are in the process of searching for a refrigerator, washer and dryer, and lots of furniture.

Our closing date is April 30th and we will officially be homeowners!!  Be on the lookout for postcards with our new address and phone number! Thank you for all the love, support, and prayers through this process!

ARRRRRRRRGH!!

We supported the pirates as they travelled to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl.  Even though it was a disappointing loss, we had a great time cheering for our team.  We had an oyster roast at mom and dad's and we had a blast.  Dad cooked the oysters to perfection and they were DELICIOUS!!!  Man, we ate a lot.  There was a lot of laughing and great times with friends as we watched the pirates play.  I am still proud to be a pirate!!!!!

Fa ra ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra Tis the season to be Jorry!

It was a very white Christmas in Missouri this year.  We had a great time playing in the snow for our white Christmas.  Santa was good to all of us and we had a great time with the family.  We celebrated Ryan's birthday and Russell's birthday.  We enjoyed crab legs, lemon pork, steak, and turkey.  Ryan and I returned to Raleigh with a few extra pounds.

Happy Turkey Day

Ode to the holiday of eating way to much food and napping a lot!  I love Thanksgiving.  Ryan and I travelled to Greenville to have my mom's awesome cooking and then to Grandma Thelma's to see the family.  We ate and ate and ate and then complained that our clothes were too tight.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Ryan and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in Boone, NC.  We drove up for the weekend to look at the beautiful fall foliage.  It was pooring down rain the first day we were there and then we woke up beautiful sunshine.  After a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, we headed to Linville Falls.  We took some pictures there, hiked a little, and then made our way to Grandfather Mountain.

Ryan and I have never ventured to Grandfather Mountain to the swinging bridge.  We were very nervous!!!  As we drove up the mountain, it continued to get VERY foggy.  By the time we made it to the top, we couldn't even see all the cars in the parking lot.  We got to the swing bridge that said " no more than 50 people at time".  Well, you couldn't see if there were 50 people and we were leary to cross.  We finally got the nerve to go across and it was very windy!!!  We took some more pictures and headed back down.

We had a great time in the mountains and we are happy to celebrate one year of wedding bliss!!!!
