11 weeks

I just rolled over, now what???

Leyton rolled over onto her stomach today for the first time!!!!  First thing we did was take a picture and call Daddy.  She was not happy once she was on her stomach.  It was funny.  She has been able to roll onto her side but hasn't been able to push herself all the way over.  It was so exciting!  It's so fun to watch her do new things.

She continues to look at her hands a lot and grab at her toys.  She is starting to put things in her mouth and occasionally sucks on her thumb when she can find it.  She is almost sleeping through the night.  She can hardly make it to 8 pm.  We try to feed her as late as we can so she will sleep a little later.  She sleeps until around 4 am and goes right back to sleep until around 7a.m.  Naps are better some days than others.  She'll nap really good one day and then fight it the next.  She is so sweet and loves for you to talk to her.

She wants to sit up all the time.  She wants to sit up in our lap and look around.  She gets mad if she can't see what's going on.  Too cute.  Love her sooooooooooooooo much!!!

Memorial Day/ 10 weeks

 Leyton and Jackson
I wasn't feeling good after my shots
Getting my feet wet for the first time

 Me and Daddy
Me and Mommy at 10 weeks

So, of course, I'm a week behind with my 10 week posting of Leyton.  It has been very busy.  Leyton had her first trip to the river Memorial Day weekend.  She was cranky and sleepy most of the time from her shots.  She took quite a while to get over them and we ended up taking her to the doctor at 6 days after her shots to have her checked.  She was pitiful and cried a lot more than usual.  She would try and smile at you and then start crying.  We were very concerned but everything was fine.  It just took taking her to the doctor to get her better because that afternoon she was back to her old self.

We were able to put on her bathing suit our last day at the river and put her feet in the water.  She didn't last very long before she starting crying because she felt bad.  We did get a few pics in her adorable bathing suit.

Leyton continues to smile a lot!!!  She smiles at us, her toys, or anything for that matter.  Snuggling is her favorite thing to do.  She wants to be held or snuggled almost all the time.  I'm learning to cook and get things done with one arm.  As I'm typing this blog, she is laying across my chest sleeping.  I've figured out if I lay down with her she will stay asleep once I lay her down.  I make sure she still good and asleep and then I get up.  We are still swaddling her as well.

We love, love, love this little girl and everything is so much better now that she is here.  God is Awesome!!!

Leyton's Newborn Pics- Memories by TLC

These beautiful photos were taken of Leyton when she was only 9 days old.  I can't say enough wonderful things about the photographer.  Tracy Callahan with Memories by TLC.  She is amazing with newborns, so sweet, gentle, and crazy talented.  We joked and called her the baby whisperer.  Needless to say, we spent a small fortune decorating our home with these awesome pictures of our baby girl.

Wow, It's already been 2 months.  We can't believe it.  Leyton is a lot more interested in her toys and lays on her playmat for a lot longer.  She coos and swats at her toys hanging down for a long time.  She enjoys rides around the neighborhood in her stroller and just being outside.  And boy does she love to smile.  She smiles all the time at us and at her toys.  It's funny to be riding in the car and she's in her carseat talking to her toys.  It's such a sweet sound.

We have discovered the best invention ever...the bouncy seat.  She loves it.  It's been so nice to sit her in there so I can take a shower, eat, and cook without her having a breakdown because she's not being held.  She still cries like crazy when her diaper is wet.  It doesn't matter if you changed it 30 minutes ago, if there's a drop in there she's going to cry about it.  Bedtimes have gotten so much better.  We swaddle her up after her late feeding and lay her down.  She goes right to sleep without a fuss.  It's been wonderful!!!  She sleeps until about 2 or 3 am and then sleeps until 6-7a.m.  Hopefully, this will last a while.

We took her in for her 2 month well-child check-up and she was 12 lbs even and 22.5 inches long.  She's in  the 75% percentile for weight and 50% for length.  She had to get 3 shots today and it was awful.  Daddy went with us thank goodness cause I cried right along with her.  She was smiling on the way home and has done very well so far this afternoon.

 I love my Uncle Russell

Leyton is going to the river for the first time for Memorial Day weekend.  I think we have packed the entire house.  Luckily most of the stuff we are taking will be staying there.  We can't wait to show you pictures of her in her bathing suit from Aunt Bonnie.  Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!!!

7 weeks

Here's our Sweet Pea at 7 weeks old.  Daddy wanted her to wear her fishing onesie that her Uncle Russell got for her.  Her "colicky" times in the afternoon are getting better and she's not fighting sleep as much anymore.  Thank goodness!!  She is so sweet and still loves to be held a lot.  Her little thighs are getting chunky and so cute!

6 weeks old

Leyton is smiling and cooing all the time now.  We just love it.  She turns and looks at us when we talk to her and loves to look all around.  She still loves her play mat and coos at the toys hanging above her.

We have recently discovered that she likes to be swaddled at night.  She went through a growth spurt just before 6 weeks and it was a bit rough around here.  There were a few sleepless nights and we are still working on night "colicky" times.  She sleeps long stretches at night when we finally get her to sleep, thank goodness!!!  She's holding her head up so good and does well with tummy time.  She still loves to be held and, of course, she gets her way.  :)  No complaints on that.  Cherishing it while we can.

Her hair hasn't thinned at all and is getting longer.  I bought her some flower headbands and they are just so cute!!!  She is just so precious to us!!

One Month Old!!

 5 weeks
My crazy hair

Leyton is one month old!  Yay!  She was a whopping 9lbs 12 ounces and 21 3/4 inches at her one month visit.  She is just so sweet and we love her like crazy.  She smiles more and more everyday and loves to be held.  We have the hardest time getting things done because she likes to snuggle so much.  We say she has a case of the "hold me's".She will be asleep in your arms and when we try and lay her down, her eyes pop open like she hasn't been asleep at all.

Bath time is still fun.  She is so good and she kicks her legs and smiles.  The picture above is right after I've washed her hair.  It sticks straight up and it's hilarious!  We love it!  We've been trying to take her out and about more often to get her use to it.  She screams when put her in her carseat until we get moving.  When we start moving, she's goes to sleep.  We've also introduced her to the bottle and she's done great.  Only refused it twice.

Gas has entered her world as well.  I feel so bad for her and it seems that Mylicon will be a part of her diet for a little while.  She loves to be held up high on your shoulder so she can look around.  She has been doing really well in church.  We can't seem to time it right and she always needs to be fed during the service.  So far, no crying.
