A tribute to our happy place

Boat rides make me sleepy

Leyton has been very busy to be only 5 months old.  She has been eating bananas, green beans, pears, squash, and her favorite... sweet potatoes.  Her appetite has really picked up.  She is still not a fan of plain cereal, so we mix it with the baby food.

She has finally figured out her jump-a-roo.  When she gets in there she jumps like crazy and it is hilarious.  And, she is up on all fours in the crawling position.  It's only a matter of time for her to figure out how to move.  She gets on all fours and rocks back and forth.  She sits up really well and only falls over when she reaches for something.  She has also started to get on all fours in the pack-n-play and reaches for the edge.  So, we are moving the mattress down for that.  When she starts crawling it will be time for us to baby-proof this house and for mommy and daddy to up their caffiene :) This little girl is so busy.  She still likes for you to hold her while she jumps.  She has also started splashing in the tub.  With both hands, she splashes water all over the place and then looks at you and smiles.  It is so sweet.

We are still having our teething moments every few days.  Thank goodness for Oragel.  It has been a lifesaver.

Leyton absolutely loves the outdoors and we are so thankful.  I put her in her stroller and off we go around the neighborhood.  She loves it.

She is such a happy baby and will give anyone who looks at her lots of smiles.  We put her in the nursery at church for the first time last Sunday because she is getting a little too vocal for service.  With all the toys that she hasn't seen before, she had a blast.  So, unless she's napping she will be hanging out with all the other babes during church.

My first bite of sweet potatoes

Yummy!

Our baby girl had her first taste of baby food and she does love sweet potatoes.  She starts grunting for the next bite when we feed them to her.  She will grab the spoon and pull it to her mouth.  It is so funny.  We have tried green beans, carrots, pears, and bananas.  So far, bananas are the only thing she doesn't care for.  But, we will keep trying.  We have been feeding her one meal a day of baby food.  She was drinking very large amounts of milk more frequently so we decided to try some baby food.  She really loves sweet potatoes.  What is so funny is that I could have eaten sweet potatoes everyday while I was carrying her.  I didn't care much for them before I was pregnant, but I LOVED them when I was pregnant.  I still prefer them over a regular potato.

Leyton loves her thumb.  She's always trying to suck her thumb or chew on it.  She seams to be teething as well.  She will chew on her hand or my shoulder and cry so hard.  Big ol' tears coming down her face.  We put Oragel on her gums and then she stops crying.

She is still very much an active baby.  She gets bored pretty fast and we move her to different activities and play with her.  She watches everything we do and is so interested in what is going on.  We love to see how much she changes everyday.  She laughs all the time and wants us to hold her so she can dance and bounce around on her feet.  She cracks us up.

19 weeks- All squeals

First time at the pool

Visit with Great Ma-Ma

Grandma June is here!

Well, it's been quite eventful around the Weaver household.  Leyton started regressing with her sleep a few weeks ago and mommy and daddy are exhausted.  We seemed to have crossed back over into sleepyland again.  Thank goodness.  It was like having a newborn again and it was rough.  We are wondering if she was starting to have signs of teething.  We took her to Raleigh to see Grandma June and Ryan's family this past Saturday and she had the worst meltdown we've ever seen.  She cried hysterically for about 30 minutes and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to console her.  She had a couple of more episodes that afternoon and when I finally got a chance to look in her mouth, there is a tiny white speck on her gum.  Of course, it happened when she hasn't seen his family in a while.

She has been the sweetest little baby.  She still loves to give slobbery kisses and smiles all the time.  She has started squealing.  And I mean squealing.  She does it all the time and it just makes us laugh.  I'm sure it will get old soon, but right now it's funny to see her reactions when she hears herself.  We can easily make her laugh and it is the sweetest sound.  I seriously think I could squeeze her to pieces.  Ryan and I stare at her all the time and tell her how pretty and beautiful she is.

We still have to hold her so that she can stand all the time.  She really loves that.  She can now turn onto her stomach from both sides and back.  She's still not the biggest fan of being on her stomach and she does get stuck that way quite often when rolling around.

We took her to the pool for the first time on Friday and she loved it.  We figured she would since she loves the bathtub.  She only lasted about 30 minutes but loved every minute of it.  She kicked and kicked her little legs in the water.  We had to buy her a new bathing suit for the end of the summer since she had already grown out of her one from Aunt Bonnie.  Wow, she is growing fast.

She's also getting better with the cereal and is wearing less of it when she eats.  And, getting more excited when she sees it coming.

What a blessing Leyton is to us.  We are soooooooo lucky to be her parents.

Happy 4 months baby girl

Daddy loves State, Mommy loves ECU
More cereal please
Good Morning
Hey there
Playing in my exersaucer

Sweet Baby Leyton is four months old.  We can't believe it.  Time is flying by and she is growing so fast!  She had her four month shots and we all did a little better this time.  I think Ryan was more upset with this set.  It breaks our hearts that she doesn't understand what is happening.  Here are baby girl's stats:  14 lbs 12 ounces and 24.5 inches long (75th percentile for both).  She has grown 2 inches in length and gained 2 lbs 12 ounces.  Growing like a weed.

We gave Leyton cereal for the first time a few days ago and she seemed to like it.  She spit out the first 10 or so spoonfuls and then she started grabbing the spoon and pulling it to her mouth.  She still likes to stand up with assistance all the time.  She rolls over with ease and has recently started pulling her knees under her and attempting to crawl.  She's not strong enough yet but she wants to real bad.  Especially if you place a toy just out of reach for her.  And, don't put anything in her reach or she will grab it and hold it strong.  My hair stays up and out of her hands because she will not let go.

Grandma June will be coming to visit soon and we are getting excited.  We think Grandma is going to be so surprised at how much Leyton has changed.  Leyton will have lots of grins and laughs to share.

We celebrated my birthday this past Friday.  Leyton was 17 weeks old and her and Daddy gave me the sweetest picture frame.  I want to share what it says because it brought me to tears.  I definitely felt lots of love.

Mother's Heart
I loved you from the very start, you stole my breath, embraced my heart.
Our life together has just begun, you're part of me my little one.
As mother with child, each day I grew, my mind was filled with thoughts of you.
I'd daydream of the things we'd share, like late-night bottles and teddy bears.
Like first steps and skinned knees, like bedtime stories and ABCs.
I thought of things you'd want to know, like how birds fly and flowers grow.
I thought of lessons I'd need to share, like standing tall and playing fair.
When I first saw your precious face, I prayed your life be touched with grace.
I thanked the angels from above, and promised you unending love.
Each night I lay you down to sleep, I gently kiss your head and cheek.
I count your little fingers and toes, I memorize your eyes and nose.
I linger at your nursery door, awed each day I love you more.
Through misty eyes, I dim the light, I whisper, "I love you" every night.
I loved you from the very start, you stole my breath, embraced my heart.
As mother and child our journey's begun, my heart's yours forever little one.

16 weeks

Leyton is 16 weeks old and is as sweet as ever.  She is such a happy baby and smiles all the time.  She will grab your face and pull you in for a slobbery kiss.  Of course, mommy and daddy smother her with kisses as well.  Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Ann, and Uncle D  may sneak a few in every now and then, too :)  Cousin Jackson comes for visits while she's at Grammy Daycare and she loves it.

One of the funniest things she does is when she sees herself in the mirror.  She goes crazy, dancing and kicking her feet.  She is so intrigued by that cute baby in the mirror.  It cracks us up.  We took some home video of her doing her dance in the mirror.

Her hair has actually grown so much, it's in her eyes.  We try and keep it out of her eyes with a cute hair bow.  She laughs and smiles so much and it melts our hearts.  When we go out to dinner, she will sit in a high chair for a little while.  She will not sit in her carseat unless we are riding or she's sleeping.  Otherwise, she wants to be out.  So, I can sit her in a grocery cart or high chair for a little while depending on her mood.  Most of the time she wants you to hold her so she can stand up and look around.  She's a mess.

15 weeks-laughing out loud

Here is our baby girl at 15 weeks old.  I'm a little behind on the other weeks, but I'll will get them done soon.  I just couldn't resist posting this cute pictures that we took today. Ryan's family came for a visit today and Leyton had to show off her outfit.

She loves to stand up with assistance all the time.  She fusses if she has to sit down and can pull herself up when she's holding onto your fingers.  She is so strong.  Leyton has been jabbering away and squeals a lot.  It is hilarious.  She recognizes different voices and is so attentive to her surroundings.  And she does love to play with her toys.  It is so much fun!

I went back to work this past week and it wasn't too bad.  I missed my sweet pea so much, but she did great at her grammy's.  She had been sleeping through the night and that has been such a blessing.  We feed her around 8pm and she goes to sleep from around 8:30 to 5 a.m.  Then she sleeps from 5-8am ish.  She did that just in time for work. :)  She does something new everyday and it's just so wonderful being her parents.

Another first at 14 weeks

Hanging with Uncle Russell

Leyton was able to hang out with her Uncle Russell during fourth of July weekend.  We played in the pool and with cousin Jackson.  We spent a lot of time out on the pier under some shade and had a great time.

Leyton laughed for the first time this weekend.  She laughed at her Uncle D.  It was absolutely hilarious and so sweet.  She thought he was so funny.

Road Trippin at 3 months

 Bath time
 Sittin in my bumbo

 Nap time
Leyton went on her first road trip on her 3 month birthday.  Ryan and I took her to Ohio to pick up a car and our little sweet pea did so good.  It was a 9 1/2 hour drive and she slept most of the time or either played with her toys.  She traveled thru Virginia and West Virginia to Ohio and had her first stay in a hotel.  Thank goodness we had a lot more leg room coming back in a bigger vehicle.  Happy 3 months baby girl!
