6 month pictures and stats

Again, I can't say enough wonderful things about Tracy Callahan.  She is absolutely amazing and so is her work.  Although, this time I feel like we worked almost as hard trying to keep Leyton smiling and from crawling everywhere.  Leyton did really well posing for the camera.  Tracy has let us have a peek at a few and we can't wait to see the rest.

Leyton went for her 6 month well child today.  I'd rather take a beating than watch my little one get shots.  But, she was smiling about 5 minutes after all the crying.  She weighed in at 17 lbs and 11 ounces and 26 & 3/4 inches long.  75th percentile for both.  We are thankful for a healthy, happy, growing baby girl.

Leyton has been very busy learning new things the past month.  She has learned to sit herself up, crawl and pull up before her six month birthday.  She has kept Ryan and I on our toes.

Leyton started off with a lot of rocking back and forth on all fours and then within a week she was moving her hands and knees and off she went.  She has crawling down pat and is moving faster and faster each day.  Just when we thought she would stay at this milestone for a little while, Ryan put her in her crib, turned around and she was standing on the side.  So, she slept in her pack-n-play that night and we lowered the crib mattress ASAP.  We have her on video laughing the entire time she is pulling up on the side of the crib.  She is so proud of what she can do.  All we can do is shake our heads.  She crawls over to us now, and tries to pull on our legs, laughing the whole time.  She crawls around then sits up and plays with her toys for a long time.

She is such a high energy baby.  Her naps are short most days, but as long as she's not fussy we just keep on trucking.  She is so inquisitive about everything and very fast at grabbing at what she wants.  She is also making up for her colicky days by being such a happy baby.  Smiling all the time and laughs at everything.  We are so amazed at what a different baby she has become.

We have had a really rough month with her sleeping.  We're not sure if it was a growth spurt or what, but it nearly killed us.  She seemed to just want to know that we were there and then she would go right back to sleep.  Hopefully, we have settled back into better sleep habits.

Wednesday mornings (when I am off) and Saturday mornings have become Mickey Mouse time.  She sits and watches Mickey for a good little while to get her morning started.  Then she gets some exercise in her Jumparoo.  She will also sit for a long time if you read to her.  She will look at the book and then look at you and just smile.  When we took her to church this past Sunday, I was late coming in because she was napping.  So, instead of taking her to the nursery, she sat in service with me.  Everytime the preacher would talk, she would look at him and smile real big like she does when we read to her.  It was hilarious.

She has progressed to three meals a day and is a pretty good eater.  She still loves her sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, carrots, pears, apples, bananas, mixed veges, and squash.  We take her for her well child visit next week, so I will post her stats then.  She will have her 6 month pictures taken with Memories by TLC next week as well.  We can't wait!

A tribute to our happy place

There are no words...

Only saddness...

5 months

Boat rides make me sleepy

Leyton has been very busy to be only 5 months old.  She has been eating bananas, green beans, pears, squash, and her favorite... sweet potatoes.  Her appetite has really picked up.  She is still not a fan of plain cereal, so we mix it with the baby food.

She has finally figured out her jump-a-roo.  When she gets in there she jumps like crazy and it is hilarious.  And, she is up on all fours in the crawling position.  It's only a matter of time for her to figure out how to move.  She gets on all fours and rocks back and forth.  She sits up really well and only falls over when she reaches for something.  She has also started to get on all fours in the pack-n-play and reaches for the edge.  So, we are moving the mattress down for that.  When she starts crawling it will be time for us to baby-proof this house and for mommy and daddy to up their caffiene :) This little girl is so busy.  She still likes for you to hold her while she jumps.  She has also started splashing in the tub.  With both hands, she splashes water all over the place and then looks at you and smiles.  It is so sweet.

We are still having our teething moments every few days.  Thank goodness for Oragel.  It has been a lifesaver.

Leyton absolutely loves the outdoors and we are so thankful.  I put her in her stroller and off we go around the neighborhood.  She loves it.

She is such a happy baby and will give anyone who looks at her lots of smiles.  We put her in the nursery at church for the first time last Sunday because she is getting a little too vocal for service.  With all the toys that she hasn't seen before, she had a blast.  So, unless she's napping she will be hanging out with all the other babes during church.

My first bite of sweet potatoes

Yummy!

Our baby girl had her first taste of baby food and she does love sweet potatoes.  She starts grunting for the next bite when we feed them to her.  She will grab the spoon and pull it to her mouth.  It is so funny.  We have tried green beans, carrots, pears, and bananas.  So far, bananas are the only thing she doesn't care for.  But, we will keep trying.  We have been feeding her one meal a day of baby food.  She was drinking very large amounts of milk more frequently so we decided to try some baby food.  She really loves sweet potatoes.  What is so funny is that I could have eaten sweet potatoes everyday while I was carrying her.  I didn't care much for them before I was pregnant, but I LOVED them when I was pregnant.  I still prefer them over a regular potato.

Leyton loves her thumb.  She's always trying to suck her thumb or chew on it.  She seams to be teething as well.  She will chew on her hand or my shoulder and cry so hard.  Big ol' tears coming down her face.  We put Oragel on her gums and then she stops crying.

She is still very much an active baby.  She gets bored pretty fast and we move her to different activities and play with her.  She watches everything we do and is so interested in what is going on.  We love to see how much she changes everyday.  She laughs all the time and wants us to hold her so she can dance and bounce around on her feet.  She cracks us up.

19 weeks- All squeals

18 weeks
First time at the pool

Visit with Great Ma-Ma

Grandma June is here!

Well, it's been quite eventful around the Weaver household.  Leyton started regressing with her sleep a few weeks ago and mommy and daddy are exhausted.  We seemed to have crossed back over into sleepyland again.  Thank goodness.  It was like having a newborn again and it was rough.  We are wondering if she was starting to have signs of teething.  We took her to Raleigh to see Grandma June and Ryan's family this past Saturday and she had the worst meltdown we've ever seen.  She cried hysterically for about 30 minutes and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to console her.  She had a couple of more episodes that afternoon and when I finally got a chance to look in her mouth, there is a tiny white speck on her gum.  Of course, it happened when she hasn't seen his family in a while.

She has been the sweetest little baby.  She still loves to give slobbery kisses and smiles all the time.  She has started squealing.  And I mean squealing.  She does it all the time and it just makes us laugh.  I'm sure it will get old soon, but right now it's funny to see her reactions when she hears herself.  We can easily make her laugh and it is the sweetest sound.  I seriously think I could squeeze her to pieces.  Ryan and I stare at her all the time and tell her how pretty and beautiful she is.

We still have to hold her so that she can stand all the time.  She really loves that.  She can now turn onto her stomach from both sides and back.  She's still not the biggest fan of being on her stomach and she does get stuck that way quite often when rolling around.

We took her to the pool for the first time on Friday and she loved it.  We figured she would since she loves the bathtub.  She only lasted about 30 minutes but loved every minute of it.  She kicked and kicked her little legs in the water.  We had to buy her a new bathing suit for the end of the summer since she had already grown out of her one from Aunt Bonnie.  Wow, she is growing fast.

She's also getting better with the cereal and is wearing less of it when she eats.  And, getting more excited when she sees it coming.

What a blessing Leyton is to us.  We are soooooooo lucky to be her parents.
